Any comments, please? The inverter pump has been mentioned in an email you
recently sent to me so maybe if it is not that I think, to end this saga that has gone and on that we might look at the sound proofing of the boiler room if it wil resolve this matter for once and for all.
I have to say that I am not an engineer, nor do I live on the estate, and frankly I seem to be the one in between the Council and the tenant and I don’t know any more answers to this except to
a. sound proof the boiler room even more; or
b. remove said boiler to another part of the boiler room away from Mrs Kyriakou’s flat; or
c. he goes to stage 3 of the Complaints system.
Might I suggest that we look at better sound proofing?
Please advise- I do strongly suggest the sound proofing be looked at seriously if it will end this story to everyone’s satisfaction-m not least my own!!

I don’t think that the problem with the inverter pump has been fixed yet because the noise is still higher the last 3-4 days.
Mr Skidmore does not realise that problems like these, create a horrendous noise and subsequently nuisance for the residents of the flats above the boiler room.
Mr Skidmore does not also realise that most of the times (99%) these problems are solved within 3-7 days which means that we have to suffer until they find the problem and subsequently find someone to fix it.
At least if the boiler room was sound proof we would not be affected from the boiler and the pumps malfunctions.
I hope Mr Skidmore does not claim that these problems occur rarely because it would be a big fat lie. The boiler in Goldthorpe House had numerous problems since it was installed in the Jan/Feb 2001 and it was shutdown in some occasions because it was overheated (04/02/2003)!!!! The result was no hot water or central heating for days during the winter. The result was that we suffered while Mr Skidmore was comfortably had a hot shower in his house with central heating and NO boiler noise.
Another of the many recent incidents was on 15th of September 2003 when the hot water was stopped and we had to use the kettle in order to have a bath. At least are there any plans to install power sockets in the bathrooms in order to connect a kettle and have hot water?
In this estate where service charges and council taxes had increased last year by 20-30% on average I would expect at least to have a hot water and central heating as every other person in this world who pays his bills and taxes. Instead I only have the boiler noise which has ruined my life until now (lost my job, anxiety attacks, “homeless” since I can not sleep in my flat, etc). Mr Skidmore can not claim that these problems of hot water, central heating and noise are not a nuisance because he does not live here!!
For all the above reasons I found Mr Skidmore’s decision, not to do anything further, unjustified and wrong. As for the central complaints team and the third stage of my complaint I have to say that I will go to the third stage of my appeal but I already know the answer…
